It looks like Activision's Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is set to enter the records books as day one worldwide sales have surpassed 7 million mark according to VGChartz. Week one sales of GTA IV came in at 5.92 million last year but Modern Warfare 2 looks to surpass this considerably.
Some more stats.
Around 55% of sales are on Xbox 360, 33% on PS3 and 12% on PC.
over 4.2 million units were sold in the Americas (3.7 million USA), 1.2 million in the UK and 350,000 each in France and Germany.
Things are looking good for Activision and Infinity Ward.
