Rumour: Prototype to get co-op DLC?
Bookmark and Share

This is pure speculation but if it pans out then it could add a very neat layer to the basic game of Prototype. The developers once had co-op planned for the game but took it out for whatever reason, yet with the rise and influx of additional extras via downloadable content, this could be implemented at some point.Look at how the versus mode for Resident Evil 5 was added after the game's release.

Like Real Time Worlds' Crackdown, THQ's Saints Row 2 and Rockstar's GTA IV as other sandbox games which deliver an online experience for gamers. Does this trend indicate that behind the scenes Radical Entertainment are beavering away at getting a co-op mode fixed and ready to roll out? A random forum poster on the official Activision Prototype forums seems to think so. Not the most reliable of sources by any stretch of the imagination, but certainly he sparks the speculative angle. The big question remains, if it is indeed something that's on the cards, like RE 5's versus mode will it be charged for content, or added as a free bonus? The other question is, do gamers want co-op in this game and more importantly are they prepared to pay for it? Either way, let's hope this pans out rather than being left in the hands on PC modders.
