Oh dear....What a viscious animal ''Bill Gate`s'' Marketing Machine is!. Since the launch of the X-Box we have played some great titles such as Halo and said proudly, ''That Wreckless game is still to come..Cant Wait''. Sorry Guys and Gals we were wrong, especially to expect a 3rd rate developer such as ''Bunkasha'' to come up with the goods!.
First of all this game is titled ''Double Steal'' in Japan for the simple fact that asian gamers are not deterred from the honest negative feedback from the western release & name!. Even the packaging in japan is entirely different which is not the case with all the other Jap version of X-Box games..Something to hide??
This game has only been hyped because Mr gates & his gang receive royalties from Bunkasha when this game is sold, Now here is what this ''Flash In The Pan'' is really like....

GRAPHICS

Essentially beneath the shiny exterior of lighting, Special Fx & lush textures lies the same structure of the ''Super Runabout'' games by Bunkasha. the only difference is that the X-Box can push some serious polygons, hence the crowded streets and activity coupled with fully reflective & mapped environments. It all looks gorgeous but so does staring at a glamour model in a magazine with much the same impact here, This attribute elapses then nothing is left!!. ''PURE EYE CANDY''.

GAMEPLAY

''Why did he fear churches so much?,Born of the Jackal..The prince of darkness is alive!!''. This about says it all in this department but allow me to elaborate. The cars drive similar to the Dump Truck from ''GTA3'' but just faster, this is not a goos thing!. You will find yourself spun around at the smallest clips on your bumper leaving you struggling to reverse out of the wall you are currently plunged into, The Yakuza are speeding away at this point might I add. The difficulty curve is erratic and will at times test your dexterity to the limits without probable cause. This plays like a messed up version of ''Crazy Taxi'' with the main shortfall that smashing into things every few seconds beyond your control is annoying within minutes. A dog on skates chasing the Yakuza would have a better chance in some of the missions!. Need I say anymore people!!

SOUND

The usual assortment of entertaining ditties with some clever use of the large sound channel capabilities of the X-Box hardware. Numerous sound can be heard as you bash up the humble streets of Hong Kong with a decent ambient effect. Its set out and schieves what is expected in this department for such a game genre. Good effort!

For the ''Super Runabout'' fans out there this is certainly worth your attention as it may appeal to you. For the rest of us this is a game to rent and show your non X-Box owning friends the graphical capabilities of the machine, Just hide the Joypad!. If you still want to buy this game then for the love of god keep the receipt safe, you may very well be needing it I feel!!.
