Dead or Alive 3 Review:

Please note, this is a hands on experience review and not our final review of this product. Code of games played at the X01 event may not be final.

Not a genre I am generally interested in but as I was unfortunately the only MSXbox World team member at X01 I will have to try my best, in a word “Amazing” I actually picked up the controller and was away, this is truly a visual treat to behold. Fans of the Beat ‘em’ up genre are going to be truly impressed.

Although initially I did get a bit of an ass kicking I soon mastered some of the more basic controls enabling me to dish out a kicking, obviously not mastering the controls or special moves but enough that I could win (although I got the impression it was set to easy!!!

Okay, Dead or Alive 3, visually there was no and I do mean NO visible defects in any way, the attention to scenery details was exceptional and the game was fast furious and great fun, bear in mind I enjoyed this and as I’m not a fan of the Genre so something here must have been pretty right!

So what makes this a must have? Well firstly it is exclusive to Xbox and utilizes the shear power, which bulges from within the Xbox console, there simply is no question about this Dead or Alive 3 rocks. From a far as I wondered in amazement from the distance came a sight, a sight of Dead or Alive 3 gleaming off the TV screaming play me, immediately I wondered over to compare the pre hype that has surrounded this title to actually playing the title. Well in no way was I disappointed and the game deserves all the hype.

The fluid animation of every move, and every character just oozes from the screen this is the most life-like game I have ever seen, each character was smooth crisp and sharp from head to toe and the scenery was equally as crisp, the game was fast furious and fluid with superb levels of detail applied to every single environment, The landscapes are absolutely fantastic; you can see more realistic waterfalls than ever, fight in the woods with hundreds of leaves blowing about, kick butt in the snow with superb fluffing effects from the snow laid surface.

Everything from the complete smoothness of the movements to the sheer detail in all of their parts is really something to look at. This is set to be a highly explosive game indeed as the ever-lasting bone crunching gameplay will keep you at it for hours, and even none fane of the beat ‘em’ up genre like me should buy this beauty.
