Calling all crash bandicoot fans. If you liked that then you will love the cat in the hat. Set out as a platform game it succeeds in keeping you hooked it’s got that just one more go factor.

Game play:

This 2d, addictive, fun to play cartoon like game keeps you hooked for hours at a time. It’s set within a house and each level resembles an object or room within the house. Ie:- level 1 you jump into a plant and the whole level is with in that plant. As far as story line’s go, forget it. If it is a story line that you are looking for take out a good book. Each level is completely different in looks but the objectives are always the same, which does create for a monotonous feel to the game. The bosses are what make this game, I feel although each level is different in looks more thought have gone into that must try again factor with the bosses. Although each boss changes ever so slightly you can’t put the control down(it is so easy yet so hard, there is a technique, find it)

Graphics:

The graphics are fab, designed to be a take off from the film it is bright, rich and high in texture. The graphics basic but dare say it quite cute(arhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). The camera angles are good but same times go wonkey the donkey a bit like silent hill. Everything is cartoon based need I say more.

Sound:

A bit of a let down, very basic and very child like, but fit’s the game perfectly. The sound effects are very creative and have a real feel to them. I wish I could say more but I can’t.

Longevity:

This game will last until your fingers hurt or spider man 2 comes out. This is not the sort of game that will suck up 18-20% of your life on earth, but will at the same time keep you so hooked that you may forget to record that all important eastenders for the missus.

Round up:

So get the kid’s out of the cupboard, let the dog in, get the pop corn out and hope the missus stays for that late session at bingo. You are in for a cartoon film like roller coaster of a ride. Enjoy
