This seriously is an awesome game, the best Indy game since ''Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine''. This game reeks of effort.
Gameplay: I don't want to ruin it, but this takes place before all of the movies and has it's fair share of twists and turns. You visit a range of places from Africa to Europe to China. If you check the booklet there are some nice little references to the movies you can find. One reference in game is that when you fall down from somewhere high up or take a big knock during a fight, Indy loses his hat. You can pick it up, of course. It's something nice that I thought was great attention to detail.
Never a dull moment, the developers obviously worked hardest on this aspect of the game. The game is genuinely fun, and I have to say, this is honestly one of the only games I've played in a long time where the fighting didn't get repetitive. You have the option to choose between Easy, Normal and Hard before starting a game, the levels follow exactly that. I would have preferred if you just got a set level to start the game on, rather than being given the option to choose.
The control is spectacular. The only other series of games which matches up to this sense of freedom is the Soul Reaver series. None of that turn, then move forward crap. You press left, Indy goes left. There's a real sense of movement and speed you get while playing through the levels and almost any obstacle can be jumped over or climbed on. Trust me, you will like the game play.
Graphics: Also another place the developers put a lot of effort into. For once, Indiana Jones actually looks like Indiana Jones. And it's not only slightly either, Harrison Ford should be proud. One thing that bugs me is the loading, there's quite a bit of it at the start of the game, and in a few sections throughout the level. That type of thing isn't good when you're really into the game, but that's about it.
Sound: I couldn't believe it when I heard it. The guy who does Indy's voice is excellent! I actually went to imdb.com to check if Harrison Ford really did provide the voice of Indy in the game. He didn't, but you won't notice. The music is also awesome. One thing I liked in particular was the little Indy music that pipes in every time you do something Indiana Jones-esque. Clear a room of bad guys or pull off a particularly hard jump or obstacle. Lot's of nice little touches in the sounds, there are no glitches. Bushes rustle when you walk by them, water splashes, Indy gets breathless if he does a lot of jumping or climbing, realistic gunshot sounds. Very good overall.
Longevity: I'm sure you'd play through this again at least once. If not to get all the artifacts (Don't worry, you can go back and play previous missions), then at least if you've seen the movies or are going to. Either way, being in an ''Indiana Jones'' mood.
Round Up: Buy, even if you're not an Indy fan. You will be after playing through this game.
