Commandos has come back for a sequel and unsurprisingly it's called Commandos 2. Everything that made the original such a good game is back and now it's got more strategy than ever. There seems to be a lot of PC titles coming over to the Xbox but that doesn't surprise me with Microsoft's PC heritage, you're bound to get a few titles over from the PC and Commandos 2 is no exception it's very much a title you'd expect to normally see on a PC. But enough waffle about PC's, what's Commandos 2 all about? Commandos 2: Men Of Courage to give it it's full name is a tactical action strategy game set against the backdrop of World War 2 and puts you in control of a elite group of Commandos who must venture deep into enemy territory to complete a series of mission based objectives. They vary from scenarios involving both indoor and outdoors in a set of different locations such as the infamous Colditz prison, the Eiffel Tower and the Taiho aircraft carrier. The first thing you'll notice about Commandos 2 is the fact that for a tactical action strategy game the graphics are sharper than a butcher's knife during slaughtering day. But graphics aren't everything, 4 separate camera angles are set to be included in the game via a brand new game engine adding new angles to the game, quite literally. The game will be much faster too - including ambushes and shoot-outs, but the planning and investigation elements will still be able to be executed too. Several new vehicles are set to be included in the follow-up, vehicles such as jeeps, tanks, trucks, ships and weapons such as bazookas and flame-throwers will be at your disposal. This time round your characters aren't just part of the war, they're fully interactive: Team members are now able to carry and exchange objects and weapons and perform shared actions such as swimming or driving, but still retain their unique abilities, along with 3 new characters to be included in the game. Eidos have also confirmed that all of the missions in Single-player mode will be playable in a co-operative Multiplayer mode too, which will add further longetivity to the game. Eidos have made the follow to the original worth a purchase, the game probably won't attract anyone but the fans of the original, but anyone who has a liking for this genre should give it a rental though.
