If there's one thing you need to know about this game, it's that this is a Tom Clancy game. By that you can immediately tell what type of game it is, yes that's right - it's of the ‘Squad based tactical shooter’ genre and if it's made by Tom Clancy that means it's good.
So what's he got up his sleeve this time I hear you cry, well in 1998 the world was introduced to a top-secret counter-terrorist task force known as Team RAINBOW(AKA Rainbow Six). This time round you play as 'The Ghosts', a top-secret team similar to that of Team RAINBOW who are trying to stop Russia from reclaiming Georgia and the Baltic states. It is your job to lead this brand-new squad as they covert military strikes and go on international peacekeeping missions that do not always go as planned. You'll mainly be on foot but will be helped by tanks, helicopters and close air support. Most of the time, you’ll be working with international military forces and NATO to fight against rising dictators and rebel groups. You'll be required to take out the enemy by sniping, blowing up bridges to stop an advance, raid bases, rescue your fellow soldiers and so on.
By now you've gathered that 'The Ghosts' are treated as guinea pigs and as such you also get to try out the latest weaponry. You'll have access to weapons such as an OICW assault rifle with mounted grenade launcher, M-136 Anti-Tank Rockets this is stuff that's made to pack a punch, firepower designed to knock a soldier off his feet in a second. For you it's just another day, another job.
Soldiers also have the ability to 'enhance' their stats as the game progresses, which means elements such as weapon, stealth and leadership skills will help you get through the game.
Also, the game is set to feature an all new game and 3-D engine set to improve the gameplay greatly. There are 15 brand-new levels and there is also a new way of controlling your team too. This sets Tom Clancy’s return to the ‘Squad based tactical shooter’ genre with great thrill for all the fans of the genre. There is a new storyline, new weapons, and new characters, in fact I think this is a completely new game but it isn't original by a long shot. There has even been rumour of multiplayer too, so if you like this genre then this will be something special to look out for.
