Who’d of thought it, Tony Hawk is having a third game made for him! Looks like the sports idol himself is becoming an icon in videogaming, this will be his fourth game (The other three being Tony Hawk 1,2 and 2-x: due out on X-Box too). Not only is it coming out on the X-Box, the most powerful console to be released(when it comes out!) but the game will also be released on five other platforms(Six in total): PS2, GBA, PC, PSone and the Gameboy colour. Tony Hawk was great, Tony Hawk 2 surpassed its predecessor by miles and, now Tony Hawk 3 is set to do it again. Skateboarding will be taken to the next level with this installation of the game. The graphics look incredibly smooth and realistic for a Tony Hawk game. I mean Tony Hawk 1 and 2 were very good but make the game look pretty much like real life and keep all the elements of the previous two games and you’ve got a sure-fire winner! There are many different locations to skate. Details that have been given away so far say that you will be able to skate at Rio, Rhode Island, Los Angeles, Canada, Tokyo, Paris and including Skater’s Island in Middleton. All the locations are living and constantly evolve, for example all the urban based levels have pedestrians, traffic accidents, ever changing weather conditions and even natural disasters! The usual trick scheme is used with many more tricks being allowed to be pulled off such as nollies, manuals and lip tricks, and all of these tricks are made using smooth fluid animation. The line-up of skaters so far are Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero, Rune Glifberg, Eric Koston, Bucky Lasek, Rodney Mullen, Chad Muska, Andrew Reynolds, Geoff Rowley, Elissa Steamer,Jamie Thomas and the newbie Bam Margera of “MTV Jackass” fame. But what’s great is that last time you could create your own park(Which might be in the game no conformation yet!) and this time you can create your own skater too! Personalisation includes glasses, hair, armbands, tattoos and many other body parts! You can even have a multi-player session and not just any multiplayer session you will be able to play Tony Hawk online apparently. Now that doesn't spring to mind as being the best online game but undoubtedly it will be good especially due to the X-Box’s capabilities. Generally this is going to be a game that doesn’t disappoint and well, this is on my X-Box list: put it that way!
