Amped Freestyle Snowboarding, Is this the title to beat Sony playstation 2's SSX Snowboarder ? Well someone somewhere seems confident and to be honest looking at these screen shots received to date we may well have to agree.
How can this be Players of SSX might ask well Microsoft have set out to set the binderies which all others will follow, Amped is no ordinary Snowboarding title, in this game you Freestyle down real mountains and have no boundaries. Amped is set to offer a different ride down each mountain and will offer over 120 runs, which will also offer a huge amount of rails, jumps, lumps, bumps and half pipes throughout.
Each mountain is unique and will require deferent skills to overcome yet remains based on a real mountain. Amped is set to include 10 real life Pro Snowboarders each with there own techniques which are realistic to the boarders real life counterparts. A slightly unique feature added to Amped will be, to become a Pro Boarder you will be required to pull off Tricks and bust Huge moves in front of strategically placed camera men positioned around each course, If you succeed in impressing the camera men you stand a good chance of receiving a little news coverage or who knows maybe you photo on the front of the paper !!!
Saying this, Fame as in real life does not come easy and it certainly is the case in Amped. Practice will be the only thing able to catapult you to the front of the national papers from a small article on the back of the local rag. Practice hard and you'll soon be demanding the coverage your skills demand. Amped is set to offer a new look to a flooded market of Snowboarding sims. Amped benefits from the power of the X-Box and makes for some spectacular uses of bump-mapping and sheer polygon pushing muscle.
Textures in the snow will not be flat and lifeless but rather ripple and curve as one would expect from a real mountain. Microsoft plan to and promise to bring fun and freedom to the game player and will allow him to do pretty much whatever he wants.. Amped looks set to knock the PS2 master piece SSX clean off the top of the hill !!!
