Two years after RalliSport Challenge burst onto home gaming consoles, RalliSport Challenge 2 has emerged with more than just a new paint job. RalliSport Challenge 2 delivers several new features to gamers including a new graphics engine, online play, the ability to set up leagues and tournaments, new race modes, and more cars and more tracks.
Due out in 2004, RalliSport Challenge 2, features impressive updates on an already good solid game base. The developers seem to have taken the winning formula of the first and added on all the little things that can change a decent racing game into a great racing game, not mentioning that all important playability factor. Much in the same way that the Colin McRae rallying series has constantly been improving its format, RalliSport Challenge 2 will hopefully let gamers get more involved with the actually gameplay of running a race.
RalliSport will feature five unique rally sports, including the new Crossover duel that tests a driver's skill and stomach for danger with extreme speeds on tracks that could send even the best driver on a collision course with disaster. From broken windows to missing hoods, RalliSport Challenge 2 features an updated graphics engine with realistic vehicle physics complete with damage modelling and performance degradation to test a driver's mettle.
RalliSport Challenge 2 is the first racing title in the new XSN Sports brand. XSN Sports games let gamers compete in the first truly virtual sports league for your Xbox using Xbox LIVE. Now gamers can easily set up a rally league on XSNsports.com, take out rivals over Xbox Live, and track up-to-date stats on a PC throughout their own rally season. All XSN Sports games bring the power of the Xbox and PC together for the first time through XSNsports.com, so gamers are always plugged into the competition.
This new XSN Sports idea promises a lot but hasn’t delivered anything yet so it’ll be best to watch www.msxbox-world.com to see how it is developing. This could start to live up to what Xbox is ultimately capable of, but until it arrives we’ll just have to wait and see.
