Today the Wall Street Journal reports that Microsoft Corp. is working on a device combining the Xbox video game system and the Ultimate TV digital video recorder. Its code name is "Freon".
According to some sources, such device could be an Xbox successor coming sometime next year or in 2004. This way, Freon could change the typical five years lifecycle of video gaming sistems and beat Sony in the video games war. Sony isn't expected to release its next PlayStation system -- known as "The Cell", until 2005.
