Vision Games is proud to announce their acceptance into Microsoft’s Xbox Incubator Program. This program for the Xbox video game system is available to game developers who want to commit resources to creating a title using an official Xbox Development Kit (XDK) before securing relationships with major publishers.
“We are very excited to finally have the chance to create our first title, Xavier Fox: The Lost City, on real Xbox hardware,” said Dean Rymer, Executive Producer of Vision Games. “This is a big step for a little company with humble beginnings, and it’s proof that Xbox is not only the platform for big-name developers, but also for new developers like Vision Games. With the power of the Xbox hardware we will take Xavier Fox to new heights.”
“This highlights Microsoft’s commitment to bringing new gaming experiences to the public, wherever they come from,” said Stephen White, Lead Designer of Vision Games, “We at Vision Games are proud to continue our work to propel the gaming industry into the future. With the power of Xbox behind us, gaming will never be the same.”
Utilizing Xbox specific features such as its powerful nVidia pixel and vertex shading pipeline, hard disk, Dolby Digital Surround Sound, and future online connectivity in conjunction with advanced character interaction and personality simulation, Xavier Fox: The Lost City promises to take adventure gaming into the next generation.
Xavier Fox: The Lost City is a third person action/adventure platform game that allows players to enter a fully interactive, persistent, growing world in ways never before possible. You are Xavier Fox, and you decide his goals, hopes, fears and personality. Accompanied by Max Parrot, you embark upon a quest of self-discovery and rebirth. Xavier Fox: The Lost City gives players a fresh take on adventure gaming with the following features:
Branching storylines - Through story triggers, during in-game cut scenes and during normal gameplay, players can contextually change the flow of the story in real time by utilizing ‘mood buttons’. These enable the player and Xavier to react to the story they are presented with and change it based on their input. Players will be emotionally involved with the characters and stories like never before. Persistent game world - Players will be immersed in a real, living, growing world with a full 365-day calendar, day and night cycle, and weather patterns.
Multiplayer & Episodic gaming - Via the Xbox Online network Xavier Fox: The Lost City will grow and change with constant updates. In both the single player experience and multiplayer gaming on the ‘multiplayer island’, players can expand and grow their characters and have access to new content beyond that contained on the disk. Advanced AI – Personification Engine simulates true emotional interaction and personality in non-player characters. Intuitive ‘In2Control’ - With ‘In2Control’ players intuitively control Xavier and Max Parrot simultaneously, without the hassle of switching characters or cumbersome play mechanics. Xavier Fox uses proven gameplay mechanics and takes them to the next level by giving players full control over the in-game camera without a dedicated camera button or stick.
