The Crackdown demo is now available for download on Xbox Live and comes in at a hefty 1.24 Gb. The demo has both single player and online co-operative play. The demo gives players a 30 minute session and lets them explore about half the district which belongs to the 'Los Muertos' gang, the other two gang districts will be blocked off. Crackdown allows player to play as a super cop who has super human qualities which can improve over time.

Since the demo is timed, the developers have stated that the time needed to level up abilities has been reduced to take into account the time limit, however in the full game which is released in February levelling up will take longer. Crackdown is being developed by Real Time Worlds and will be published by Microsoft game studios exclusively for the Xbox 360, the developing team is being headed by Dave Jones who was the genius behind top selling games such as the Lemmings and GTA series.
