Uber Bill Gates has announced that he will end his day-to-day role as head of software giant Microsoft by July 2008. he commented, "This is a hard decision," and said that he was not retiring but "reordering [his] priorities." For gamers this means very little but Bill has always been the figurehead for Microsoft's global operations. Mr Gates will continue to serve as the company's chairman and advise on key development projects after July 2008. Craig Mundie will assume the title of chief research and strategy officer and at the same time Mundie will work with general counsel Brad Smith to focus on the firm's intellectually property and technology policies.
