The guys over at Vision Games have been hard at work, read on to see what's been happening in the world of Xavier Fox
Vision Games Developer Journal 10
First I’d like to wish a belated Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Hopefully all that triptophin isn’t hindering your Halo multiplayer gaming any. Second I’d like to apologize for the two-week absence of the Developer Journal. We’ve been extremely busy this month. A couple weeks ago I attended the NY Unleashed event with Steve. In NY we were able to spend some time with our friends from Microsoft and Teamxbox as well as talking to gamers to find out what excited them most about Xbox and upcoming games. Last week Steve attended the NY Xbox launch event and had a great time. Hats off to Microsoft for launching back-to-back events like these in New York. Beyond that we’ve been exceptionally busy at Vision Games working on Xavier Fox: The Lost City. Unfortunately a lot of what we’re doing cannot be mentioned in this Journal until many weeks into the future. Because of that I’m going to do a bi-weekly Developer Journal until we can start talking about some of the exciting developments with Xavier Fox and Vision Games.
• Animation of Max Parrot is nearly complete. The daunting task of correctly, and realistically, animating his wings is nearly behind us (or rather Cliff) now. • Xavier is executing a great deal of his animations. More and more facial expressions are being added to give him a real persona. • We devised a new way of handling camera motion. As mentioned before, the gamer can essentially manipulate the camera by simply moving Max. • Major environment modeling continues. We’re moving onto some of the larger environments. • A few new characters were developed, one of which was submitted by one of our Xavier Fox Weekend contest winners.
Take care; we’ll see you all in two weeks with a much larger update!
