Bethesda Softworks has announced that it is currently developing The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind for the Xbox. Already in development for the PC for years, this follow-up to Bethesda's landmark "do whatever the hell you want, go wherever the hell you want" PC RPG series will once again be a hugely open-ended, single-player free-form RPG in which a character constantly evolves throughout the course of the player's adventures, featuring gameplay that changes based on the player's actions.
Bethesda Softworks promises that it will take advantage of several graphical effects available on the Xbox hardware, as well as specific visual enhancements planned for the Xbox version of the game like more realistic textures, higher polygon counts, real-time shadows, larger environments, and a dynamic weather system. The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind is currently on track for release as an Xbox launch title. . Previous games in the Elder Scrolls series include Arena and Daggerfall.
