THE BATTLE OF THE BABES
Both Dead or Alive and Rumble Roses at first glance could be considered as games appealing to young men who seem to get off on looking at polygons shaped as women. However as anyone who has played either game will tell you, there is a lot more substance to the games than what they might appear to be on the surface. Sure, both titles feature women wearing revealing outfits whilst they dish out some physical punishment to opponents and both games also feature bouncing breasts and in Rumble Roses case some buttock jiggle as well. Beyond these visual effects both Rumble Roses and Dead Or Alive feature some very solid fighting which at the end of the day is what most people will be buying these games for. However some admiration has to be given to the characters, especially as it is clear the developers have spent a lot of time and effort making them look as good as they appear.
Well to fuel a fantasy argument which may or may not even exist, we at msxbox-world have decided to undertake a character battle featuring the girls from both games; whereby characters from Rumble Roses face off against characters from Dead or Alive 4. The decision to pair certain characters with their opposing counterpart was based more in terms of the looks of the characters. Both games look great on Xbox 360 and yet the design of the characters are very different in terms of art direction. The purpose of the exercise is for you the reader to vote on the character who you feel would win in a fight with the other character or perhaps looks better as far as you are concerned. You might also wish to simply vote for you favorite character, why? Well because you can that?s why!
Using a rather unconventional method of capturing screens from both games, we have taken photos using a digital camera direct from the monitor on which the games are displayed to gain some unique images. Whilst the quality isn?t as crystal clear as a regular screenshot the images do give you a good idea of what the characters look like in their respective environments.

THE RUMBLE ROSES
Rumble Roses XX is the first appearance of these skilled ladies on Xbox 360 and with no previous titles on Xbox (Rumble Roses first appeared on PS2) means they are really the new blood and of course the challengers. The girls are sassy, determined and obviously don?t mind revealing some skin. As with most fighting games the characters featured in Rumble Roses all have something to prove, whether that is to themselves or to a rival. The Roses have a mixture of styles which include punches and kicks as well as some complex grapple attacks. However compared to the Dead or Alive femme fatales, are perhaps a little slower in terms of striking speed. Surely their powerful grapples, throws and perhaps submission moves might be enough to win this fight? You decide! Let?s meet the girls.

THE DEAD OR ALIVE TEAM
Dead or Alive has been Xbox?s flagship fighting game and with its exclusivity to the system, the girls have done a grand job appearing in 4 games thus far. Dead or Alive has been around for a number of years and started off in the arcades under the long winded title 3D Combative Sports Dead or Alive. With a home version appearing on the loveable PSone and then subsequent iterations of the series on Dreamcast, PS2, Xbox and finally Xbox 360 this long standing series certainly has a lot to offer. The female combatants utilize a wide range of marshal arts and I guess what separates them from the Roses girls is the fact that they get to practice their skills against a number of men as well. Will this be enough to win the fight?

First up we have Noble Rose verses Ayane in what could be described as attack of the purple haired vixens. Can Rose defeat Ayane or will a bad hair day get the better of the both of them?
Stripping assassin Christie may at first appear to have an edge over lowly teacher Miss Spencer; however Miss Spencer is no push over which might mean that Christie will have to sit up and pay attention in class.
Pensive Helena shouldn?t take loud mouthed Candy too lightly, as Candy might look pure and innocent but underneath that calm exterior lays the beast within!
Hitomi verses Reiko is a very fair match up, with no indication as to who could win this fight. It?s going to be interesting to see which girl has the most determination and eventually win.
Newcomer Kokoro may have met her match with Judo expert Makoto. However one must never forget that anything can happen in a fight.
This will be a close fight indeed with Chinese Leifang and Mongolian Aigle giving it their all. Maybe Leifang can give Aigle some tips as to the meaning of true power?
The great American battle as the ever so kind Lisa takes on the menacing Anasthesia. Maybe once the fight is over Anasthesia can patch them both up?
Tina verses Dixie is the perfect match and certainly the clash of the titans. Both girls are powerful fighters and so who knows what the outcome will be?
