Halo 4 already in development? Options

Speaking with Bungie at an exclusive Microsoft event this month we were informed that there was "no rest for the wicked" for the team as they were already beavering away at the next Halo game in the franchise. When questioned whether the game would be a prequel, Bungie remained tight lipped as always but we have a hunch that the game might actually be Halo - The Movie Game <insert movie title prefix here>. Either way, it's early days considering many are still tackling the single player of Halo 3. With huge sales across the globe for the series there's no doubt that gamers are in store for more fighting whatever the guise may be.

i hope its better than halo 3 because i'm not enjoying the multiplayer as much as halo 2, well not yet anyway..

i think its because in Halo 2 multiplayer the controls were more fluent where as in halo 3 they seem really rigid!

well like i said i'm still getting used to it...we'll se how it goes!

Does anyone here have any other ideas about what the next Halo game is going to be - other than a movie tie in game? The word Forerunner seems to be cropping up a lot or perhaps we could see the birth of something entirely new? Thoughts, suggestions?

[spoiler]Did you noticed the very last ending of the game its tells you there will be a other Halo some wheres down the line in time[/spoiler]. Of course there will be halo 4 not sure what its will be about but i am sure of it. The game has sold way to much to just stop it there.

I've not "Finished the Fight" Just yet but even without knowing the ending I can agree with you. However the team at Bungie can obviously take the series where ever they please whether that be Halo 4 or some other Halo game. I for one wouldn't mind a game that looks at the makings of John Spartan 117 which has been documented in the novels (not read these).

I can understand that Bungie may want to do something fresh altogether. Although, yes another Halo is a no brainer really, as long as people continue to buy it by the bucket loads then it makes sense for both Bungie and Microsoft.

My personal view on it is this: I do not think we will be seeing another Halo, Bungie developed shooter on the Xbox 360. I expect Bungie shall want to continue to support their product with new game variants and map packs. From what I have been playing of Halo 3's multiplayer, I know I'm in it for the long haul. This to me means constant Halo 3, as much as time will allow me, at least until the Gears of War sequel, which I expect we will be seeing this hit the console next year (just my opinion).

Before anyone takes this off topic about me actually playing H3, I think the next one would have to be a prequel if it was of the same ilk as Halo 1, 2 and 3. The other option would be a movie based one, or something more like Halo wars. Maybe an RPG....Halo ala Final Fantasy?

Nonono, its ok. After finally beating the game, I read it, and it didn't really contain any spoilers. I just wanted to be safe and not read it just in case.

Well if/when (delete where appropriate) halo4 is out i for one would like to see it based on the novels therefore i would like it to be a prequel and would like the game to tell the story of how John (M.C.) became a Spartan and how he became the last of his kind.

I just finished 3 and am so disapointed I can't see straight! I thought I could not be more disapointed than when I completed Halo 2, but boy was I wrong. TOTAL letdown.

Theyre not making a Halo 4!!!!!......theyre making Pimps At Sea, do you guys not religiously follow everything Bungie says?


Anyway, if they did make a Halo 4, I would hope it would be a prequel like "Fall of Reach", it was definitely the best book and had a stellar plot.
