nah my copy has not yet arrived, got a tracking number for it but nothing else yet, anyway it wouldn't stop me playing i if it did turn up early, mainly because i have done nothing wrong.

It's terrible tbh, even day 1 piracy isn't this bad, this is like CoD4 all over again.

Yeah I seen that the other day Thrawn, looks good to me and makes sense as well, though even if it was legit retailers are just too slow to catch on now anyway.

I'm going to do another trip through town early tomorrow to see if I can pick the game up. Cross your fingers for me fellas!

There's no spoilers or cutscenes in there, just a load of gameplay footage, single and multiplayer.

Some great scenes of hookers, the cover system, explosions, raggys, cars, the city at night, weapons, targeting system, pretty much everything you want to see.

Give it a watch, it hasn't spoiled anything for me.

From another topic in another forum. Once you get over the hype you'll realize a LOT of features have been cut that were in past games. It's personal opinion whether you liked the cut features or not, but San Andreas had it all and once the dust has settled is probably going to still be regarded as the benchmark GTA game of the series. GTA IV is more impressive on a technical level but look at those cut features!.

Depends on what gamer you are. A lot of those cut features were hated by some and loved by others. It's a shame not all of the past features were refined and put into the game in some way.

When you look at the features cut, it's not anything major, except maybe the planes and bikes. All of those things are just little things that made SA cool. But GTA3 had none of those, and I think GTA3 is still the best GTA, for what it was at the time, for many people it was thier first free-roaming experience, it was the first game to take things to the next level! I think GTA4 is going to be the same, this is just the beginning, all those features can be added in later games.

Playing GTA 4 is a great experience that any gamer should enjoy due to the diversity of gameplay on offer, but let's not forget that the experience is a familiar one when you strip away the extra spit and polish afforded due to the hardware. In fact in terms of gameplay features, for every new addition, it seems like several others from previous games in the series have been cut out, which is a pity. San Andreas offered a gang slant, and plenty of character customization options without losing the identity of the leading character. There were also several related criminal activities available for players to dip in and out of such as burglaries and turf wars. However GTA 4 doesn't provide this element as Niko is a more refined criminal which then leaves the extra activities being a little bare. There's only so many times you're going to sit in a strip club or get some head from a hooker before you ignore the activity entirely for the rest of your play time. I also found that money seemed to have little purpose and as my funds increased dramatically as I piled on the hours, there was actually not much to spend it on. This is a shame because you are offered a huge open world to make money, but the incentive for doing so is somewhat hampered if there's no real point. It's fine to say that Downloadable content might add some extras, but that's not really an option or a factor in this review.

GTA 4 is a grand and ambitious game all round and on a technical level, Rockstar have done an excellent job of bringing Liberty City into the current generation. Niko and his cohorts are well realized characters of a movie like quality, and the missions in the story, whilst somewhat familiar are compelling and entertaining. With all the complaints I've had and the somewhat step back in terms of features from San Andreas, GTA 4 is still a remarkable game that shouldn't be missed by anyone calling themselves a gamer.

Been playing it the majority of this afternoon, awesome game, I love everything Rockstar North has done with the game. The attention to detail is astounding, however, it's the little things which take part in the world around you which keep me immersed such as the citizen and ped behaviours.
The amount of times the police have had their sirens on and were skirting up behind me, only to find out they're chasing someone in front me, it has happened twice now. Also, there are a lot of different citizen types and they all react to your actions differently, some will shoot you in an attack, some will run away, others will call the police. I could be here for a while for some of the things I've seen, but I won't ruin your experiences.

oh, one thing though. This game doesn't look that great in 1080i, there's a lack of anti-aliasing and it's blurry in the foreground.. I may turn the resolution down to 720p.

I only get paid on the 6th and really gutted as when i'm playing the "old school" COD4 or R62 friends of mine will sign in and play GTAIV. I just hope it's as good as what everybody says!
