None of them are actual game, but do give an idea of the vision the team at Lionhead have for the game.

Now that is a connundrum (spelling). I think Fable and Oblivion appeal to two different tastes. However I can see that Fable 2, if it has enough features and depth could offer a similar experience that could rival Oblivion but perhaps not surpass it. It's early days and I guess we'll see what Fable 2 can bring into the mix when more details are released.

I think the biggest problem for us hardcore types is that the team at Lionhead combined with MS wanting to sell more copies left us with a game that was aimed at the broader market, therefore lacking the kind of depth we are looking for. Games such as Morrowind were always seen as a more hardcore gamer type game. Hopefully the success of Oblivion on a next generation platform has convinced MS that there is room for more hardcore type games and that with careful balancing can appeal to the wider spectrum of gaming tastes.

Fable 2 will be greatness on a CD. I think there has been less pressure placed on Lionhead from Microsoft which in turn will have allowed them to fine tune the game and make a killer title. Of course I could be completely wrong and Fable 2 could simply be a cash cow version of Fable.

Hopefully the success of Oblivion on a next generation platform has convinced MS that there is room for more hardcore type games and that with careful balancing can appeal to the wider spectrum of gaming tastes. you have to realize that oblivion was...how should i say...dumbed down, compared to morrowind. fast travel is a perfect example of this. that doesnt mean it wasnt a good game. but its success was partly because of an already dedicated fan base (who would buy it almost no matter what) and also because of more main stream aspects for the less fanatic. that said, i still agree with what needs to be done in fable. making it more in depth would draw more hardcore gamers, but probably wouldnt scare away many of the fans it already has. its pretty much the reverse of what happened with oblivion/morrowind, with basically the same results...a hit. -------------------- It's not very good, but its something... ![]() Black says this version is better, so whatever. |

Yeh I agree that Oblivion was toned down compared to Morrowind, however fast travel was optional.
Off topic slightly but did anyone ever find the sandgoose? --------------------

QUOTE(The Thrawn @ Mar 7 2007, 08:57 AM) i'm actually looking forward to Mass Effect more than Fable 2 These are going to be two very different games which surely can co-exist even if they released at the same time on some distant isolated planet in alternative universe that has no daylight and is called Zararg 7 . As far as MASS EFFECT is concerned I would like to see more media on the Female version of commander shephard (spelling?). As far as Fable 2 is concerned I'm counting the days until a gameplay trailer is actually showcased. -------------------- By jove I acually won!
