Gears of War content imminent. Options

Later in the week we will see some new Gears of War content hit the Xbox Live Marketplace. A Gears of War related video is scheduled to hit the marketplace as well as 2 new Gears of War multiplayer maps. Mark Rein of Epic Games stated that there will also be an update released for the game prior to the release of the new content. Supposedly it will be to address certain glitches in the campaign as well as some exploits in the multiplayer mode. One can only hope that the update will add some more needed game types, though it seems unlikely.
The best bit about this news is that the maps are going to be free, which will certainly please chainsaw psychopaths the world over.

Some details about the new maps:

Raven Down: A Raven Helicopter has gone down in the middle of a large scale battle with the omnipresent Locust Horde. Gears have taken out the Seeder and gamers join Delta Forces moving into the crash site from all angles to search for survivors.

Old Bones: In an attempt to eradicate any traces of human history and culture, the Locust Horde has emerged under Sera's Capitaline Museums and has begun to destroy them brick by brick. Each gamer's mission is to help the Delta Force recapture the museums before all remnants of humankind's existence are obliterated.

i mentioned the colour in a post a while back,the graphics are great and so is the motion of them,maybe thats why they had to cut down on the colours.some reds and greens might add to it tho

They're not available yet. I just checked, but from what I've read there should be an update today to address games issues and then the maps are to be released tomorrow.

released today isnt it,i have my eyes glued to my front window hopin the UPS van pulls up with my 360 in it.am gettin serious withdrawals now,am even havin conversations with my wife! thats how bad things have become

The maps and video are now available as of today. I've just had a quick multiplayer match on each map, and they're OK, I was expecting them to be better but for the moment anyway I prefer all the current maps over the new ones. Though it may just be me needing to get used to them but my first impressions when running around were that they look good but just don't feel "right" to me. Can't explain it, maybe you will love them, we shall see.

Both of the maps are pretty cool. It seems like they both have a ton of cover. I know the other maps have cover, but the new maps just seem loaded with it. Also, I couldn't find any weapons on the one map. Is that just me, or what?

Forgot the name but the one with the downed chopper is the one you're talking about. The only item available to pick-up that I have noticed is grenades at either side of the map on the rear of a truck.
