I haven't heard anyone show any interest, or mention for that matter, the Eurogamer event this this year. It's a fairly new thing, it started last year, and basically it's an event open to the public and hosted by Eurogamer where you can play a lot of next year's biggest titles before they come out.
Basically, companies are free to sign up and promote their titles, so it could potentially be different publishers each year, but the bigger companies have showed their heads both times so far. I, like a lot of others, have my own indifferent opinions about Eurogamer's written ways, but last year's test event was a blast I must say. Some of the companies of this year showing games are; EA Eidos Bethesda Ubisoft & Capcom You might just easily guess what they're are showing in result of recent game news, but if you have no clue and just want to read more about it, you can go on their main website. I'm going under a press pass representing us, so I'll be semi-working, but it might be cool to bump into a few of you there! -------------------- LeeMan's Game Relative

Eurolamer... nuff said. Hehe only joking. This event would generate far more interest if it were hosted by 'The Sun' newspaper.

I'm ashamed, I thought more people would be interested. Maybe I shouldn't have put Eurogamer in the title.

I'm going with a few friends. It's only £6 and Leeds isn't too far away.

Hey all, just thought I'd revive this thread for the purpose of sharing each others experiences at Eurogamer this year.
As you may already know, I went on the Saturday (which was the last day of the event) and as a generic sweeping statement, I had mixed feelings of the event this year. There was a very apparent effort in catering for the public and casual gamers, unlike last year where there was more of a 50/50 split for junior developers/press and visiting gamers. The thing that I did like about the event this year though was the location. This year it was at the old billingsgate which is in the nice business sector of London (The City of London), and it was just a pleasant more presentable building overall. It was a lot larger with at least four floors to the place, so everything was spread out this time... mostly. Disappointingly for me though was how the building was used and what was offered. The game industry advice floor was tiny and cramped, and there seemed liked less opportunities for group developer talks, but more large Q&A's instead - I'll give that the benefit of the doubt, as it was probably due to the amount of people that attended this time around. Some of the games demos were very underwhelming, and it was a shame, as I knew they weren't representational of the final products. Also, the PS3's kept overheating as the staff chose to but them in cupboards this year, which in the end was actually humorous. I think Dragon Age on the console was probably my most reassuring title there. I won't name any other names specifically, as it wouldn't be fair to judge them here. (you can read my previews for the games I played extensively) Anyway, if anyone has any questions about some of the games that were on show, or otherwise, then I'll gladly answer them. Here's the list of games that were shown. -------------------- LeeMan's Game Relative
