Game Overview
Caught between two rival factions in war-torn Africa, you are sent to take out "The Jackal," a mysterious character who has rekindled the conflict between the warlords, jeopardizing thousands of lives. In order to fulfil your mission you will have to play the factions against each other, identify and exploit your their weaknesses, and neutralize their superior numbers and firepower with surprise, subversion, cunning and, of course, brute force. Real-time story telling, systemic auto-healing, minimal in-game interface are just few of the features that make you feel the tension of being alone against barbarous warlords that threaten thousands of innocent lives. Choose from a wide range of weapons to make your way to your primary target. Meet the fight head-on with your machine-gun, go berserk with your machete or make stealth kills as a Sniper. If you feel that the atmosphere is not warm enough, light up your flamethrower and let your enemies and everything around them feel the heat.

COLLECTIBLES INTERACTIVE MAP

Far Cry 2 features various objectives to clear on the map, these include finding safe houses, recon guard posts, hunting down Jackal tapes as well as finding the 221 elusive diamond cases. The diamonds are most useful as they are the game's currency which you can spend in the weapons stores.

Finding diamond cases isn't so tough because when viewing the map your sat com will blink a green light when nearby. The blinking increases in intensity when you get closer and if you are looking directly towards the diamond case it will remain lit.

Stickin' it to the man 10
Kill a Faction Captain in Leboa-Sako - the Northern Territory

Wages of Conflict 10
Acquire all conflict diamonds in the game available through payment or exploration.

You will need to find all diamond cases and complete all missions that pay diamonds, this includes all of the Hitman missions (cell towers). You can revisit the north area after going south, but it's probably best to clear the tower missions before heading south to be on the safe side.

Turn over the first set of the Jackal's audio logs to the Journalist

You need to do this before you move to the south territory otherwise you are screwed out of both achievements. It's best to do this before embarking on any of the later story missions. There are 8 tapes to gain - you already have one in your inventory. Head to MIKE'S BAR once you have them and return to them to the journalist. Your sat com will flash when you are near to one of the tapes to help you locate it.

You won't be able to access the journalist after you kill a leader, so make sure you do these before you accept the mission.

I found that starting from the West and moving clockwise around the map offers the easiest passage to gaining them quickly.

Complete all the available Underground side-quests in both the North and the South

This is another mission that can possibly screw up if you move to the south before completion. There are 3 missions in the north area and 4 in the south. You will gain access to these once you run out of malaria pills. You must complete these just after the Greenhouse mission (Act 1) is completed. If you leave it any later then they may not appear.

Note: I got the achievement after doing 5 missions, so it might be possible to have missed one in the north and still get it if the requirement is only 5/7.

Simply complete one of the weapons store missions - gained when you have no other mission active.

Simply finish a cell tower mission.

Get rescued by a Buddy

Set a buddy active by visiting a safe house - the buddy should be inside and will tell you that they will help out. In your next firefight deliberately get knocked out, and they will come to your aid. You'll probably get this normally anyways.

Imagine each territory (north and south) having 9 squares each. You need to enter each of the 9 squares for north and south.

If you are always going for the Blue objective, then you'll have to enter firefights with your buddy. It's likely that they will get downed and blue smoke will show you their location. Simply press RT to help them. If it fails, then they've taken too many hits and must be mercy killed.

Rescue all the Buddies from their respective predicaments

There are 6 buddies in the North area and 5 in the south. You need to find them before you reach the point of no return around 73% game completion. Most are found via mission but one is tricky to find if you're not looking.

There is one buddy that you have to rescue outside of any missions, but depending on your choices in the North area, determines who it is that needs rescue. In my games it was either Nasreen Davar or Xianyong Bai. They can be rescued in the South Sector in the brewery area of the map in one of the buildings. You will need to have cleared the first set of missions before the interior door will open.

This means you need to answer the cell phone when you get given a mission and always do the blue objective.

Hey. This info is great so thanks very much.But i've a problem with this game and i'm stuck at the marina bar at 88%
when i've to meet reuben. It wont let me enter the bar. What am i doing wrong? Please help

Reuben is the journalist right? Are you attempting to hand in Jackal Tapes or part of the story? If it's tapes, then he wont appear if you've progressed the story too far, as he's already gone.

If it's the story, then my memory is a bit cloudy, fill me in some more details of where you are at. I think you have to meet him at an airfield.
