Game Overview
Set in a land rooted in ancient Persian mythology, the Prince finds himself caught in an epic battle between the primal forces of light and darkness: the God of Light, Ormazd versus his brother Ahriman, the destructive God of Darkness. The Prince arrives just in time to witness the destruction of the legendary Tree of Life – an act which threatens to plunge the entire world into eternal darkness. Manifested in the form of the Corruption, a dark substance that physically contaminates the land and the skies, the Prince must partner with Elika, a deadly companion, to heal the world from the evil Corruption.

ACHIEVEMENT TIPS


STORY BASED ACHIEVEMENTS



These are all based around actions you have to perform in order to progress the story. So you'll have no problems gaining these as you play.


Wallrunner 10
Completing the Canyon. - this will come naturally.

Compass 10
Use the Compass. - with Elika in tow at the start of the game (once you are outside the temple and free to choose where to go next) Press the Back button, then choose an area on the map, press A to set waypoint. Exit map screen and then press the Y button for Elika to show you where to head next.

Heal the Land 30
First Healing. - Once you reach the first corrupted area of your choosing. You need to reach the specific point where Elika can heal the area. Once you reach these areas, usually after defeating an enemy, enter the glowing light and press Y, then rapidly tap Y button.

Saviour of the City of Light 50
Final Healing. - You'll get this as the last corrupted area on the map is purged.

Explorer 20
Explore every part of every region. - You'll gain this after you have explored all areas on the map, and then entered the final area (which doesn't appear on the map).

TIME TRIAL BASED ACHIEVEMENTS


These are pretty self explanatory, however these are best achieved once you've purged the entire lands of the Corrupted. Why? Well once the lands are pure again there are no enemies and masses of corruption to hinder your speed run. By all means, attempt to do these without purging the land first, but it makes it more difficult.

The start points are the areas where Elika purged the area of Corruption (Fertile Grounds). They are usually circular areas and are the points where you teleport to when using the map screen to reach already purged areas. I'm not sure when the timer starts so it's best to teleport to the start point, enter map screen and set a waypoint to where you are heading to. Then begin as soon as you exit map screen. You'll need to reach the circular areas where Elika purged the land for the end point.

TIP: Don't be afraid to use Elika's Y button compass to guide where you have to go.


Ruined Citadel Runner 10
Run from the Sun Temple's Fertile Ground to the Fertile Ground in Windmills in 5 minutes. (Area on far left of map).

Vale Runner 20
Run between the Fertile Grounds in the Construction Yards and Heaven's Stair in 6 minutes. (Area on the middle- left of map)

Royal Palace Runner 30
Run between the Fertile Grounds in the Royal Gardens and Coronation Halls in 4 minutes. (Area on the middle-right of map)

City of Light Runner 40
Run between the Fertile Grounds in the Tower of Ahriman and City of Light in 7 minutes. (Area on the far-right of map).

Speed Demon 10
Finish the game in under 12 hours. - Just beat the game in normal speed. You need 540 Light Seeds to be able to beat the game, so don't waste too much time collecting unnecessary seeds, and ignore (LT) lengthy conversations.

COMBAT BASED ACHIEVEMENTS


Block Master 20
Block 50 attacks. - Hold RT to block attacks. You'll get this normally

Deflect Master 20
Deflect 20 attacks. - Press RT just as an enemy attacks the screen will flash and your animation will pause for a split second when you get this right, allowing you to counter attack. You can get this from any enemy.

Sword Master 20
Perform 14 hits in one combo. - (Thanks to PringlesForAidan for video)

This one is tricky and can be performed against any enemy, although it's easiest in an area with lots of space. The combo will cancel out if an enemy is pinned against a wall or edge so make sure you have your back to an edge or wall as you begin the combo. Tougher enemies later on in the game will deflect your attacks more often.

It has been suggested that the best place to do this is during the first encounter with the Concubine. (middle-right area of map). Make sure she has almost full health remaining and that there's enough room behind her. Make a new save file just after you slice her illusions, so you can keep trying. If you take too much health off her then get deliberately get hit so that her health replenishes, although be wary as this will only work a few times.

This is also very easy versus the first encounter with the Hunter, (this is where I got the Achievement). Just make sure you begin the combo near the center of the stage rather than the edges.

The trick to performing the combos is to not hammer away at the buttons but to time your presses just after one attack has landed. So you need to keep a close eye on the animations. Make sure not to double tap the first X of the X,X,X,Y part of the combo as this messes it up. So you will need to perform exactly 14 button presses.


Xbox 360 Combo: X, X, X, Y, X, Y, A, Y, X, Y, B, A, Y, X

X, X, X, Y (three strikes with the sword followed by Elika kick)
X, Y, A (Prince strikes, Elika kicks, then they both jump on the enemies back)
Y ,X, Y, B (Prince throws her, Elika throws Prince, Prince throws her, Prince throws enemy into the air).
then
A,Y,X or A,X,Y or A,X,B (they both jump up, and then the last two actions are dependent on what buttons you chose)

PS3 Combo: Square, Square, Square, Triangle, Square, Triangle, X, Triangle, Square, Triangle, Circle, X, Triangle, Square




Warrior Special 20
Dodge the Warrior's attacks 20 times in one battle. - The Warriors are the enemies you face in the far right area of the map. They are big and can't be damaged with regular or magic attacks. You need to use the environment to beat these guys. To Dodge an attack, simply hold the block button and the thumbstick up or down and press A button to evade. Just evade 20 times in one battle.

Hunter Special 20
Deflect the Hunter's attacks 5 times in one battle. - You'll face the hunter in the far left area of the map as the boss in the boss area and prior to this. During any encounter with him simply deflect attacks by pressing RT just as he strikes. Learn his animation and you'll get this easily.

Alchemist Special 20
Defeat the Alchemist without using the acrobatic button. - This is fairly straight forward. When you face the Alchemist at any time. Do not press the A button during regular attacks. You can press the A button during the fixed battle event sequences (QTE).

Concubine Special 20
Defeat the Concubine without using grab. This is fairly straight forward. When you face the Concubine at any time. Do not press the B button during regular attacks. You can press the B button during the fixed battle event sequences (QTE).

Improviser 10
Use the environment against an enemy. - This is easy versus the Warriors or any area where there are pillars/walls. Simply smash the enemy into the pillars or walls. Remember the combo X,X,X,A, to get behind an enemy.

Up against it 10
Win a wall mini-game in combat. - This is easy and means you will enter a QTE event when against a wall. Simply tap the required on-screen button prompts. If successful you'll instant kill the enemy.

Speed Kill 10
Kill 10 generic enemies before they spawn. - You can do this by finding an enemy before they spawn by reaching them quickly, then press X button when next to them to cancel the spawn. You can find one enemy spawn point beat him then go back into the adjacent area, then head back again to respawn him. You can keep doing this until you get it. You'll hear the enemy when you are close by.

-A great place to do this is if you enter the King's Gate Ruined Citadel (far left of map) from the starting Temple route and head towards the exit which leads to the Sun Temple Ruined Citadel. There is an enemy spawn point just after you enter the sandy area after climbing the vines.

From the King's Gate exit, start off from the platform where the ring is (this is the trigger area on the platform) and jump across, grab ring and jump onto the ledge. You'll drop down a step and then be able to head along the left hand wall. Here you'll swing and make jumps until you reach a wall with a vine. As soon as you climb the vines you'll reach the sandy area, which is where the timer starts (you'll actually be able to see the enemy from here).

Now just make haste heading to the enemy by wall running ending in a swing. Time it right and you'll be able to strike the enemy before they appear. Once done, SAVE GAME. Then head back to the ledge by the ring where you started. You'll hear two flute notes to indicate the checkpoint. You'll also have needed to drop down from the large vines on your way back.

The whole process should take no more than a minute or two. Do this 10 times.

Throw Master 10

Throw 10 Soldiers of Ahriman into pits. - Simply defeat enemies by hurling them over the edges of fighting areas. This is pretty easy. You can use the same tactic as above for respawning enemies.

Combo Specialist 50
Find every combo in the game. (thanks to Sourcer187 for the BASIC list - although I think Jones23 and B1indSide are the original authors so thanks to them as well). I've added another combo section later on in this guide which you can also use.

Ubisoft Montreal suggests "In the menu system there is a combo list and the combo tree, you need to do everything on that list. Without knocking an enemy into the wall as that’ll stop the combo branch."



It's recommended that you do these versus the final boss ,although you can make a note of which ones you've done against any enemy as you play normally - the risk with the last boss is that if you mess one up you'll have to start over. Same rules apply with the back to the wall. Make sure you're far away enough so that the walls do not interrupt the combo. Make sure that when flipping over him there is space to do so. Make sure the combo does not kill the enemy otherwise it cancels it out. You can hit the wall as long as the final strike of the combo connects. There are a lot of moves in total to perform and the beauty is, the last boss regenerates health. You can deliberately take a beating to get saved by Elika so that his health replenishes also, but this is not indefinite. The achievement should pop up after you defeat the boss. Remember to Save often during the last portion of the game in multiple slots so you can retry if you fail.

COLLECTION BASED ACHIEVEMENTS


Light Seeds are blue glowing orbs that appear in an area once it has been purged of Corruption. These grant Elika additional power. You need to collect these as part of the story. You need 540 to actually beat the game, and so the rest are optional. If you're not going for a fast game complete time or being saved by Elika less than 100 times, then you can easily take risky jumps. As long as you touch the orb you'll get it. Be aware that some Seeds can only be gained using the transporter glyphs (Red, Green, Blue, Yellow). Also be aware that you'll gain some seeds (25) after beating the area bosses.

Be aware that the last point in the game before you won't be able to go back and collect the ones you missed is at the Temple after you've purged the entire lands. Do not enter the temple, SAVE GAME IN NEW SLOT HERE. Also make sure to save your game periodically as you collect rather than relying on the Autosave feature.

Collect 100 Light Seeds.

MISCELLANEOUS ACHIEVEMENTS


Titanic view 10
Find the Titanic View. - (Thanks to Jofosoen for video) - You need to stand on the wooden ledges to get these. Very easy to get.






Assassin View 10
Find the Assassin's view. - (Thanks to Jofosoen for video)





In Harmony 10
500 coop jumps. - These are performed naturally as you play. Press the Y button after you have jumped so that Elika boosts your jump distance.

Precious Time 10
Take one minute to think. - At the END of the game you'll come to a point where you'll hold Elika in your arms (the only other times you'll hold her is at the game's start and another around the middle - you can't do it here) Simply wait during this moment for one minute. I would suggest putting the pad down as I'm not sure if moving cancels the achievement.

Where's that Temple? 10
Talk to Elika. - Press LB or LT at the beginning of the game as often as possible to initiate conversation with Elika. Keep progressing and you'll get this easily. You'll know when you've exhausted the conversation when Prince repeats himself and you're able to move. Elika will say "I need to get to the temple". That's your cue to press LT.

Getting to Know You 10
Get to know Elika by talking to her. - Press LB or LT as you progress through the game as often as possible to initiate conversations with Elika (a symbol also appears in the bottom left of screen to show that you can talk to her). Keep progressing and you'll get this easily. You'll know when you've exhausted the conversation when Prince repeats himself and you're able to move.

Good Company 10
Learn about the world, and Elika's history. - Press LB or LT as you progress through the game as often as possible to initiate conversations with Elika (a symbol also appears in the bottom left of screen to show that you can talk to her). Keep progressing and you'll get this easily. You'll know when you've exhausted the conversation when Prince repeats himself and you're able to move.

Be gentle with her 100
Elika saves you fewer than 100 times in the whole game. - Being saved is when you see the short cut scene every time you make a mistake, her hand reaches out to pull you back. She'll also rescue you if you make an error during fighting. You need to make less than 100 errors throughout the game. Apparently you can Save Game and keep reloading a save if you feel you're messing up too much. Although remember to save often to prevent having to repeat long sections of the game.

Climbing to New Heights! 10
Find the highest point in the world. - You'll gain this automatically when you fight the Alchemist in his final lair.(Middle Right area of map).

Sinking to New Depths! 10
Find the lowest point in the world. - (Thanks to Jofosoen for video) - Gained at the temple where you start the game. Head to the left side of the temple on ground level to find a small drop down area near the edge.

-Beat the game's story and you'll unlock Jade's outfit (this is a character from one of Ubisoft's other games on Xbox - Beyond Good and Evil).

- If you want to unlock the two bonus outfits then type in the following code in the extras menu under Skins:

Just want to add a note on the Speed Kills achievement. If you exit Kings Gate and head into Sun Temple, head right on the first wall. Jump a few pillars, cross the platform and scale the ceiling rings quickly to kill the enemy on the platform. Then turn back around and head back into Kings Gate to kill the enemy on the first platform you get to (the one mentioned in this guide). Then turn back into Sun Temple and repeat. This ensures that you smoothly and quickly cross the trigger points for each enemy. Of course save after each one just in case.

Also if your going for Light Seeds master make sure you look around when hanging on poles, the bottom side of EVERYTHING and the back side of a very tricky vine wall on Machinery Ground.

This is a great guide btw, had it open almost the whole time I played.

The combo specialist achievement is cracy. It would be understandable if you could just let him refill his health but that stops working. I don't see how people get the achievement this way. I didn't mess up any combos at all. He didn't even deflect any, surprisingly. How are you supposed to do that huge set of moves in one fight?

I thought this at the time, but i got the achievement from 5 to 6 fights.

When the combos got longer, i would sometimes maneuver the enemy too close to a wall or edge, resulting in an instakill. So i would teleport to the temple, save game, and teleport back and pick up where i left off. Starting with the combo that i killed the enemy with.

and that list of combos deffinetely work.

Just completed Prince of Persia, haven't really been achievement hunting yet - I played it through at a casual pace, with a few detours to get light seeds (ended up with about 850) and to my surprise I got 'Be Gentle With Her' and 'Speed Demon' - I really thought I was going to have to replay to get those - those combo ones are going to take a while though

Fairly decent game, was a smooth play through, but I didn't feel it was overly challenging
