![]() We've just opened our exclusive MSXBOX-WORLD Viva Pinata card hunt competition where you can gain some rather cool Pinata cards to scan and create new and cool Pinatas for the just released Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise. Using the Xbox 360 vision camera simply scan the images that you'll find scattered around these forums and bingo, you'll get that Pinata into the game. Cool huh! There are 23 Pinata cards hidden in various popular topics in this forum and the first person to present me a list of all 23 of them (their names) and which topics they are hidden in will win an Xbox 360 vision camera to help them scan the cards into the game. The images will appear on the first page of the topics they are in, so no need for browsing through tons of pages. There are 5 cards in each of the main forums 5- News forum 5 - Gamers Lounge 5- Xbox 360 games 5- Xbox Live 3- Tips and cheats Once you've got all 23, simply send me a private message and if you're the first then lucky you. Remember the cards are available to anyone who has the game and sadly the camera comp is only available to UK residents. If players get truly stuck then some hints might be posted. CONGRATULATIONS TO NINJASTEEN who beavered away through lots of topics to find all of the cards and PM'd me first. Well done, and thanks to everyone who entered. Remember you can still hunt for the cards to use in the game. Here's the first card to get you started and to give you an idea of what you're looking for. Remember, the more thorough you are the better your chances of getting them all.

Tips for scanning a card thanks to http://pinataisland.info/
Be sure there is plenty of light when using cards. When the camera sees a card, a little screen will appear in the game just below the clock. Hold the card horizontally (landscape orientation) with the barcode at the bottom. Don't obscure the edge of the card with your finger tips; Don't hold the card between your index finger and thumb; don't bend it. With an open hand, grip the edges of the card between your thumb and fingers. You only need a gentle finger tip touch to keep the card steady. If the card flexes, you're gripping too hard. Move the card forward and backwards until it occupies most of the camera view, but ensure all four edges of the card are visible. When the edge of a card is found, a blue line is drawn over the top of the little camera screen. Ensure the card is near/far enough for all four lines to be visible. If four lines are visible, adjust the cards position in front of the camera. The game will look for the top edge first, bottom, right and finally left. Next, try and focus the camera on the card; if the focus is fuzzy you will not be able to scan the card. On most reasonable sized televisions you should be able to see how crisp the focus is by reading font off of the card. When the camera has a clear picture, the card will light up in the screen, and you will hear a confirmation sound. New items will placed into your cursor in the game, and other cards will trigger their effects almost immediately. Once the focus is set and you get the knack of holding the card in the correct place, you will be able to scan cards quite efficiently. Remember, many cards can only be scanned once per pinata day. Troubleshooting If four lines are visible but the game will not read the card, this indicates that the focus of the camera is incorrect. Make sure the Xbox Live Vision camera focus is turned completely counter-clockwise. Then turn it back a bit at a time until the card is read successfully. When you show the Xbox Live Vision camera a card, the display may change color to show you that something is not right. If it is amber, this means that the card has been read, but you can't use this card in this particular situation. Try again another time or in another place. This could be for a number of reasons: * The card has already been used or you reached it's limit if it allows more than one use. Most cards will have a 'use once per pinata day' limit. * The card cannot be used here (in the journal, etc). There are special cards that turn pages in the journal. You cannot use a card that places an animal in the journal. * Most cards cannot be used by guests in a multiplayer garden. Journal page, CC's and shop discounts will work for clients, but placing pinata cannot be done by a client. If the display is red, it means the camera read the card, but it appears to be invalid. Red means: * It's locked for someone elses gamertag, but more usually... * The data on the card is invalid - usually caused by poor focus of the camera. * The card actually contains invalid data. This should be a very rare occurrence -------------------- [[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]

I'll ask this now because i'm un-certain.. When we PM you, do we tell you the names of the pinatas? or the thread they were in? EDIT: Too tired, i'll look some more tomorrow And you've done a good job of hiding these Rob, I thought I could just find them at the top in the active posts, or even just looking at your recent posts on your profile lol This post has been edited by Rikoshay: Sep 4 2008, 10:02 PM -------------------- ![]() ![]() Most Valuable Poster - Nov '07 Visit the Piercing Bullets Clan Site: pbclan.co.nr For the latest clan news, stats and media! |

You will need to provide the names of them and the topics where you found them. Sorry I didn't stipulate that earlier.

Well done chap, and it's actually great that you have the game to put the camera to good use. I'll post this to you as soon as I can.
Anyone else can still be hunting for those cards to use with the game. -------------------- [[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]

There should be no dispute here, as NinjaSteen posted his message at 1.55 AM today and yours was received at 4.49 AM today. You were actually third as another message was also received before yours. Anyways, stick around these forums and this site, as there are always plenty of other comps to try your hand at. Thanks for participating.

Thanks for participating. well according to my message box i sent it to you at 9:49 pm the screen shot of it is here as an attachment, but as a mod you i think should be able to check my messages i don't know why you didn't receive it when it clearly states i sent it at 9:49 pm. guess i also should have posted it all on the thread here to be sure. Just to verify time zones i am -6 GMT.

You solved the issue yourself in the post you just made. We are a UK based site and therefore your -6 hours GMT is why the time is displayed different for you. Add 6 hours on to your 9.49am and you'll get the time I received your PM 4.49 am. NinjaSteen is UK based and sent his before yours.
Also if you read the rules it clearly says that the comp is open to UK residents only. So even if you had been first, your entry would have been void. -------------------- [[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]
