Chpt 2: Desperate Stand (2 Collectibles)
Collectible 37: COG Recon Report
After Marcus and Co. arrive back at Control they proceed on with Colonel Hoffman in the battle for Jacinto, which is being stormed by the Locust. Hoffman will open a door for you and as you enter you should notice the Locust storming the heli-pad. Either kill or ignore them for the moment, simply head right and go down the first set of steps to the left of the heli-pad and you will find the COG Recon Report on the floor near an ammo box at this location.
Collectible 38: COG Tags
During the fight for Jacinto, you continuously move along as Hoffman unlocks doors for the battle to continue. After having taken out the Reavers that are attacking the building with Troika Turrets, Colonel Hoffman will have you proceed on as Marcus says, "Hey Colonel, I guess we are the support, huh?". As you proceed on from this point you should notice that there are Mortar's available for you to pick up and use against the Locust (Brumak's appear after all remaining Locust have been taken out), immediately head right and take the second set of steps to your left, down here you will find the collectible COG Tags for pickup near an ammo box.
Chpt 3: Free Parking (2 Collectibles)
Collectible 39: Jacinto Sentinel Newspaper
After defeating all enemies in the courtyard continue on to manually open a locked gate, which leads you back outside and into plenty of more Locust to kill. Once the enemies have been taken care of, proceed to the right where there is an opening between the walls, behind the wall to the right the Jacinto Sentinel Newspaper is located here behind cover.
Collectible 40: COG Tags
Marcus and Dom have temporarily separated as one sweeps the street whilst the other covers from the garage. After eliminating all enemies the two regroup at the end of the street. Once regrouped a Grinder lurks just ahead, once eliminated you should see a Hammer of Dawn on the floor in front of you, Anya will also point out that the Hammer of Dawn satellites are online. Proceed forward taking out all enemies, which should include some Locust Drones, a Reaver and a Mauler. Once eliminated, continue forward and and as the path is blocked, cut through the opening in the building and out the other side, immediately to your left there will be another opening, which is also just to the left of a bench, enter and you will find the COG Tags to add to your collection.
Even if you miss the bit mentioned above and continue on forward, you will trigger the next chapter, though fortunately the game does allow you to backtrack to retrieve the COG Tags should you have missed it the first time around. The rather impressive and destructive view of Jacinto should stand out considerably, and if you see this before collecting the COG Tags, then you should know to backtrack just a bit as the the COG Tag is right before this, just head back past the cars to your right and continue on towards the building. You will see the previously mentioned bench to your right here, to the left of this is the whole in the building, enter it and here you will find the COG Tags for your collection.
Chpt 4: Tenuous Footing (1 Collectible)
Collectible 41: Stranded's Journal
After multiple Locust climb up and are dealt with, the platform will collapse and Marcus and Dom go crashing down with it. Once you get your bearings back you will see a battered settee, bookshelf and desk through the windows ahead. Once you've dealt with the inbound Locust, you can find the last collectible item, the Stranded's Journal, to the right behind the desk.
